The ideal way to start rooted cuttings

Organic Rooting Powder is a growth supplement containing an organic source of seaweed and minerals.

It is these minerals and seaweed extracts that help create conditions which encourage deep and healthy root development in cuttings and young plants.

    Organic Rooting Powder:

    • Suitable for edible and ornamental plants
    • Organic
    • Use with soft, medium and hardwood cuttings.

The ideal start for rooted cuttings, Organic Rooting Powder contains no synthetic hormones or fungicides.

To take a cutting, use a sharp knife to cut straight across below a leaf joint or bud. To prepare, stand cuttings in water and when ready to plant out, shake off excess water and dip into one to two centimetres of Organic Rooting Powder.

Alternatively, sprinkle the powder sparingly directly into the planting hole prior to planting out.

Not suitable for ericaceous or other acid-loving plants. Store in a dry place and out of reach of children and pets.

    How to use

    For Cuttings:
Take soft, medium or hardwood cuttings using a sharp knife. Cut straight across below a leaf joint or bud. Remove leaves from the lower third of the cutting. Stand cuttings in water after preparation. Shake off excess water then dip 1- 2 cm into rooting powder prior to pricking out with a dibber into a sand/peat compost. Alternatively, sprinkle the powder sparingly directly into the planting hole prior to pricking out. Where pots or trays are used, cover with a clear polythene bag. Use elastic bands to seal around the lip of the pot or tray and place in a light but not sunny position.

    For Young Transplants:
Sprinkle the powder sparingly into the planting hole prior to re-potting young plants. Not suitable for ericaceous (acid loving) plants.
