Feeding Bonsai during the growth season is essential for survival, and requires a feed developed specifically to meet the tree’s needs.
A specially formulated soluble feed, Bonsai Feed has relatively high phosphorus and potash levels to strengthen stems and root systems.
Bonsai Feed:
- Soluble and suitable for most bonsai species
- Suitable for ericaceous or lime-hating plants
- Strengthens stems and root systems.
As Bonsai are grown in pots, they need to be fertilised regularly to help replace the nutrients taken out of the soil without causing excessive, lush top growth.
To meet those needs, Bonsai Feed should be applied every two weeks from March to October. Indoor Bonsai trees can be fed throughout the year.
Always remember to water Bonsai trees when the soil appears dry. Bonsai Feed can be stored indefinitely, re-sealed tightly and stored in a cool, dry place.
How to use
Mix 1 measure (0.5 g) of Vitax Bonsai Feed in 1 litre of water and apply during the growing season, every 2 weeks from March to October.

Click & Collect
Handy Household is currently offering a click and collect service from our store in Sandbach, Cheshire.
Almost all orders are processed the same day for collection unless otherwise stated, however Handy Household reserves the right to process orders for collection within 1 to 2 business, (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order is ready.
In-store pickup
You can skip the shipping fees with free local pickup Handy Household after placing your order and selecting local pickup at checkout, your order will be prepared and ready for pick up the same day unless otherwise stated on the product or at checkout. We will send you an email when your order is ready along with instructions.
Our in-store pickup hours are 9:15 – 5:15 (Monday-Friday) and 10:15 – 3:45 on (Sundays) we are open 7 days a week. Please have your order confirmation email with you when you come.
Refunds, returns, and exchanges
Returns of any kind are processed the same as an in-store purchase, we accept returns up to 30 days after purchase, if the item is unused and in its original condition, and we will refund the full order amount.
